Setting up WebJal

I assume no responsibility for what happens if you screw up doing this. Check with your carrier before using this.

Notice: This method does not work if you have dial-up AOL.
You will need to use this on a computer with a different internet provider.

Update Oct 14, 2004: A new version of the patcher has been created.
It should get rid of any troubles that people have been having. Download
and install the patcher again if you are having any issues with webjal. I have
also changed the free login restrictions to 100 downloads every 2 weeks.

Read the instructions carefully, if it still does not work click the paypal button and then email or aim me.

  1. Uninstall WebJal and any patches you might have.
  2. Download and install WebJal
    I am not providing this, you must get it from somewhere else. Site 1 Site 2 Site 3 Site 4 - Search 1 Search 2
    This currently is only tested with WebJal versions 01.01.02 and 01.01.03
  3. Download and run this program: WebJALPatcher.exe
  4. If this window pops up, keep clicking Next and Yes.
  5. Do this if you are using a USB data cable:
    Install the USB drivers for the data cable from this page. (Click here)
  6. Open up WebJal and have fun.
    Username: webjal
    Leave password blank.
  7. If you use the Free Login more then 100 times in two weeks please sign up for a username or else you will be blocked.
    Click here to sign up for your own username/password:
    ($5 every 3 months) Once payment is received, an email will be sent to you containing your username and password.
    Your username will be disabled once you unsubscribe. So if you want to cancel your payments do it near the end of the 3 months.
